What is Dienstag abend ?

d.a. is a flexible platform initiated by Fernando Mesquita and Ludwig Kittinger. Artists and other professionals are invited to different locations to form a collaborative ( co-labourative) structure to serve as a hub for research of artistic mechanisms and conditions relating to a situation.

Our focus is on leveling the process between idea and outcome in which the existing manner of spatial and/or social and/or any contextual situation serves as a foundation. We encourage participants to step out of their usual work patterns, as a suggestion, not a requirement.

Within the d.a. dynamics we recognize the action (activity/non-activity) as more relevant than the result. The project engages on forms of collaboration in order to: do things, or not, independently of whom or/and what. We are not seeking for types of collaboration that are based on collectively following some concept where a conclusion is the objective.

manual

Peacock Visual Arts are pleased to host Manual, a public participatory event that forms part of the research towards a new film work by artist and filmmaker Cecilia Stenbom.

http://www.peacockvisualarts.com/archive/423/opportunity-to-contribute-to-a-new-film-by-swedish-artist-and-filmmaker-cecilia-stenbom

The event will consist of a series of one-to-one interviews that explore people's everyday behaviours and habits in public space. Participants will be encouraged to talk about their own experiences, routines and preferences within the framework of everyday situations; How do you choose a seat in a restaurant? What do you do in order to feel secure? Does surveillance make you feel safe or watched? Do you take measures to avoid catching infections from other people? Do you have a system for staying safe in public space? How do you act when you run into someone you don't want to run into? What do you find unacceptable behaviour? Do you have a preferred toilet cubicle?

The interviews will inform and influence a fictional short film that will be screened in Aberdeen in 2014.

The event will take place on Friday 15th Saturday 16th November between 10am and 4pm at Seventeen 5 - 17 Belmont Street, Aberdeen.

To register your interest or if you want more information please contact ceciliastenbom@gmail.com. Pre-booking is not essential but preferable to avoid waiting times. The interviews will be recorded. Participants under the age of eighteen need parents consent. Everyone who takes part in the event will be credited in the finished film unless the wish to remain anonymous. The individual interviews will take about 15-20 minutes.

This project is kindly supported by Arts Council England.

  Hearts Made Here

Silver Fox's self-titled album was recorded in one day. They partnered up with their long-time friend and producer, Andrew Hodson (Warm Digits), to create an album that reflects the energy of their live performances. This is music with no rules or preconceptions; pooling ideas and observations into music that can be raucous, sad, reflective, powerful, wistful, or whatever it needs to be. With vibrating harmonies and primal beats at its heart, sounds and words form together in response to the lives we all live.

SILVER FOX are:

Susie Green - vocals, keyboards,

Rebecca Knight - drums,

Laura Lancaster - guitar, vocals,

Rachel Lancaster - bass guitar, vocals.

Silver Fox formed in 2009, and have had well-received single releases on M'Lady's (Waves on in/Marble World) and Milk (Capital Kiss/Arosa) in 2012.

Silver Fox is a place where anything can happen, where ideas are free to move and change. Pulling together lyrics and sounds from collective experience, Silver Fox create music that surprises and refuses to be categorised. Silver Fox make intuitive sounds led by a responsive, if-it-feels-good-do-it approach, giving free reign to all ideas large and small.
