London Laura Lancaster: Closer and Further Away 4 June - 31 July WORKPLACE 40 Margaret Street London W1G 0JH London Gallery Weekend Hours Friday 4 June, 12 - 8PM Saturday 5 June, 11AM - 6PM Sunday 6 June, 11AM - 5PM Closer and Further Away presents a new body of work by British artist Laura Lancaster in which she focuses on the reinterpretation of classical subjects involving the female figure, such as sleeping women and women in pastoral settings. Mostly executed during national lockdowns, the paintings in the show reflect the artist's yearning for space and freedom, her reaction to confinement and her re-evaluation of the relationship between individuals and their physical environments whilst also continuing Lancaster's exploration of the tension between figuration and abstraction and the use of the photographic sources as a trigger for a process of action and reaction.   Book your Visit London Interludes 15 May - 20 June WORKPLACE Unit T, Reliance Wharf 2-10 Hertford Road London N1 5ET London Gallery Weekend Hours Friday 4 June, 11AM - 6PM Saturday 5 June, 11AM - 6PM Sunday 6 June, 11AM - 5PM (Guided tours at 12pm and 4pm) Coinciding with the first edition of London Gallery Weekend there will be guided tours of the exhibition at 12pm and 4pm on Sunday 6 June.
