International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) offers a high quality line-up of carefully selected fiction and documentary feature films, short films and media art. The festival's Tiger Awards Competitions, Bright Future and Spectrum sections contain recent work only, among which many world premieres. In its Signals section, IFFR presents retrospectives and themed programmes. IFFR actively supports new and adventurous filmmaking talent through its co-production market CineMart, its Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab and other Industry activities.
AV-arkki participates in the professional programme of IFFR 2014. Sami Sänpäkkilä's Psychedelic Alphabet for the Newborn, Sini Pelkki's A Replacement, Cecilia Stenbom's The Case, Pasi "Sleeping" Myllymäki's Sleeping, Jenni Hiltunen's Grind and Marika Orenius' Therefore it is (has been) here will be shown in AV-arkki's press and Industry screening on Sat January 25th.
DINAMO (Distribution Network of Artists' Moving Image Organizations) distributors show recently acquired work. These titles can also be seen in IFFR's video library during the festival.
The Case was commissioned by Berwick Visual Arts and Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival. Produced together with independent producer and filmmaker Mat Fleming. Cinematography by Minttumaari Mäntynen, edited by Edwin Mingard and original score by Marek Gabrysch.
